Little gas pump icon

Got this info forwarded to me recently. I don’t know about you guys, but I have never realised the significance of the small icon of a gas pump at our car gas gauge before *grin*
Look at the small icon of a gas pump. Seems that the handle of the gas pump will extend out on either the left or right side of the pump. If your petrol tank is on the right side of your car, then the icon handle will be on the left. If your tank is on the left, the handle will be on the right (see photo below).
The first picture is indicating icon for petrol tank on the RIGHT side,
and the second picture for tank on the LEFT side,
If you're confused as I was earlier, the trick is to note on which side the pump HANDLE is ... Left or Right? Your petrol tank is on the opposite side.
Once, driving in our church van (aka Gen-2), it came time to fill up the petrol tank. We were unsure on which side the tank was, so our driver had to get out to see. Now I understand the meaning behind the little gas pump icon. Thought it was just there for show hehehe…
My car gas pump icon clearly shows here that my petrol tank is on the LEFT side of my car.
Anyone else tried this out? Did it work out as well? Hmmmmm ... *thinking*Labels: car
