Superstitions - Part 2: Gifts, Presents...
Saturday, October 20, 2007
Here are some superstitions I've heard on present-giving. Anyone knows the origin of these believes? Interesting though that it got me thinking twice sometimes while shopping for gifts whether to abide or disregard mmmmhh...
These are some items deemed "NOT FAVOURABLE" to give as presents ...
1) Perfume
A big no-no for a boy and girl just getting to know each other, are dating or hoping to end up married. Giving perfume as a present will jinx the relationship and causes the couple to split! However, once the couple is safely married it is then okay to include perfume as a gift :)
This one was passed on to me by my aunt who had first hands experience harhar!
2) Handkerchief
It means to wish the receiver many days of crying and sorrow!
3) Watch, clock ...
These time-pieces symbolises wishing little time being alive! Alarming eh.
4) Socks, shoe, sandal, slipper...
The receiver might walk away from you.
Well, you can try this on someone you want far far away hehe... *kidding*

All are NOT TRUE. We live in the 21st century of bygones superstitions and vodoo rituals. It's like mind-reversal 230 yrs ago. Believe in your self, your own intuition and GOD.By having all these crept in your mind only reveals how backward in thoughts you are.
