My dear-dear ex-Uni roomie & apartment mate, Ju-Bong, had been barking at the rest of us for a reunion since early 2007… Mannnnnn the word ‘reunion’ makes me feel ancient somehow *lol!* I prefer to see it as ex-apartment mates gurl-outting!
Watch out Penang! Here comes the ‘giddy gurlssss’
Will update on our adventures when I return next week. Ta-ta!

Reunions.Trips.Plannings!!
Wednesday, January 23, 2008
Hoh boy! My gurls friendsssss are planning REUNIONS. It’s time they say. Are we really getting on in age? Hmmm. It’s truly is a blessing to have so many lovely friends, from different stages of your life. It’s quite uncanny though when they start getting the same idea around the same time. Whoa!
Well, my dear friend who journeyed with me through the awkward days in high school—Wendy—has volunteered to seek out all our classmates (in form four & five Science… class of 1995 Stella Maris) and organize a day for all of us to have dinner and catch up. We need to reach 2 more ex-classmates—Sumi and Susan. So if you happen to be one of the twos I mentioned, please leave your trail here ya! Urgent!
Then my darling gf who shared many dramatic memories with me during my uni days—Mrs Esq aka Ju-Bong—is also adamant that we apartment mates (U-Height) & close friends should have a reunion sometimes this year. Ju is doing an email survey for us all to fill in our destination and date of choice hmmm. So far Penang got 2 votes and date is still very vague, around April, June or August.
The planning is the hardest part I think. Let’s see how it all works out.
Talking of planning… *to my two thrill & adventure seeker mad workaholic ol’ friends, Wendy & Claire* … take note! And to those of you thinking or needing to travel abroad this year… I got to know of this great site which will help tremendously in your research and planning for the oversea trip/vacation/holiday/business trip.
You can check out the accommodation (hotel/motel) and traveling method (by air or land) in your destination of choice. Hotel Reservations will help to search for the best deal and offer available. Pricing wise, it is competitive to the destination’s local offer online. There’s a useful tool to get city guide to places of interest here too. Good to help in planning how to spend each day in a new place ya. This site also gives you the option to book online with good discounts. So no need to go to countless of different site to do your research, seems to me you can get all the information you need from this site alone. Pretty useful this site is.
Planning-planning-planning… Hoh boy…

The sleeping Tigress
Monday, November 05, 2007
Ju-Bong is one of my oldest and best buddy. We were roommates in our uni days and knows pretty much all about each other's weirdness.
The most outstanding thing about Ju-Bong was (and I believe still is) that she can really sleep. I have every faith that if ever a sleep-athon was organised, Ju-Bong would emerge the winner hands down! She can sleep the whole day through without breaking a sweat. She'd sleep, then wake-up long enough to attend class, lecture, tutorial, eat, group discussion etcetera... then sleep again...
If Ju was just having a nap, then she'd leave her spectacles on while sleeping, so I'd know she was only catching 40 winks. But if Ju took her specs off (usually she'd place it next to her pillow), then this mean she was burrowing into some serious, deep sleep and a wise friend would refrain from waking her up until she's good and ready to get up.
Ju told me this story once about a scare she had because of too much sleep. The story goes that Ju took her usual catnap one afternoon, and as there was nothing much in the day's agenda, she slept up to dinner time. Her family were getting ready for dinner, so her poor younger sister--Sue Ellen--had the enviable task of waking the sleeping tigress.
As expected, Ju threw a royal fit to rival that of an injured tigress for being jolted back to the Real-World from her lovely Slumberland. She *blinked-blinked* *rubbed-rubbed* her swollen eyes and slowly openned them to see a bright blinding white light. Everything was blurry and white! She can't see anything!
"Sue! Sue! I'm going blind! Everything's white!" Ju was in a state of panic. Why was everything white and hazy?
But instead of being alarmed, Sue laughed uproariously.
Sue then reached out to the panicking Ju-Bong and turned Ju's whole body to face the other side.
"Ju, you were facing the (white) wall lah!"
The white dissapeared, and Ju's vision although still blurry was now filled with her familiar bedroom and Sue's grinning face. Putting on her trusty specs--placed on the usual spot next to her pillow--Ju's vision came back to a clear focus again.
O the peril of too much sleep hehehehe :-)
Anyway, Ju is happily married to a loving and wonderful guy who loves her to pieces now. So Sue's safe from ever having to wake the sleeping tigress ...
