Fuel Panic Buying @#%*#
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
It was around 2.00pm yesterday when Miss Snowy called me to inquire whether I've heard of any rumor on Petrol Kiosks closing up starting at 4.00pm that day. Her sister whose office is just next to a Shell station noted that the road had started to form long queues, not unlike the scene during the eve of the infamous fuel price hike several weeks ago!
Effort to get more info on this rumour revealed more absurd news ... all the petrol station nationwide will close for ONE MONTH! ... close for 3 days ... close until the Petroleum Dealers Assoc and the relevant Minister comes to an agreement about the credit card matter, so the strike could go on for a looooong time ...
And after many motorist in Sabah endured long queues for petrol, or suffered through the jam to go home ... and me taking the decision to stay put at Aunty F's house till the road was clearer (her house very near my work place) ... ONLY to hear in the mainstream news at 8.00pm that IT WAS JUST A RUMOUR ... no whatsoever truth ... was ArrrrGgggHhhhh GrrrRrrrrrRrr!!
On one part ... the media could just be parroting whatever the Minister wants them to say to avoid pandemonium. People are verrrry alert and sensitive nowadays when it comes to the 'fuel' subject. Who can blame us huh. I suppose, where there is smoke, there usually is a fire somewhere ...
Well, to my fellow KK victims ... what was your 'adventure' yesterday like?
