MAY 2008 - Part 2

MAY = Kaamatan/ Harvest Festival
Yup, month of May is the KadazanDusun month to celebrate.

The 19th of May, was Wesak Day and so a public holiday here in Sabah. The church chose this date to have the biennially KK Diocese Thanks-giving + Kaamatan Mass.
The host for this year was St James Church, Tenghilan.

The special mass started at 9.00am, but I only arrived at 1.00pm, in time to see one dance performance in the church hall.

The hall was pack to the max.
Dancers from Tuaran parish.

Dang! But I forgot the name of this dance. Slow and graceful... almost boring if you don't care for it. But for me the movement was fascinating. Caught a bit of the dance in action. I like their costume. Colourful and unique. Well, where else in the World can you find similar costume ya.
