Penang Trip

Finally I've made time to update on our (me & my Uni buddies) Penang trip... For the full story and photos (from my cam only... Ju yet to email me hers), CLICK HERE!

Ju, Alin, Yana, Anita and Jes... to whet your appetite... errr interest, here's the brief of the trip (^_^) *sorry take sooo long to complete ya. Schedule too full that's why hehe... If i miss out on something noteworthy, or if i gave the wrong place etc, lemme know ah.

24th April 2008, Thursday
Yana and me landed at LCCT. At Ju's apartment, Yana felt in love with ehem... see pic below.
25th April 2008, Friday
Anita joined us. Breakfast at aunty Fara's cafe at Matrade building. This pic was taken before we started our 4-hours KL-Penang journey at Matrade car-park :)
Hah! This lar our pilot... Smooth and steady y'know!
Ringan sama dijinjing, berat sama dipikul...
a) Ju was generous enough to be our driver... so we all also must chip in lar kan...
b) Anita was the co-pilot cum accountant (in-charge of preparing change for toll and petrol),
c) Yana was the advisor for any crisis we might face during the journey... and also the 'sleeping beauty' hmmm.
d) Me, assistant advisor and auditor for Anita (whenever she pening lalat with all the calculation).
Been almost 8 years since I last step foot in Penang, though it felt like yesterday. We were all excited upon sighting this...
We check-in to Copthorne Hotel upon arrival around 2pm++ and admired the sea view from the rooms balcony (2 adjoining rooms). As it was real humid, we wanted the room aircon to run even when we're out (have to take room key out with us). So Jes (who joined us then) came up with this brilliant idea!
Dinner at Gurney Drive... sooo much to choose from oh! These are just some of the goodies we had.
26th April 2008, Saturday
We walked down memory lanes in our Alma Mater --USM--and admired the picturesque view when we spotted this persona non gratta. Can you see it?
It's Mr. Iggie the iguana hmmm...
Desasiswa Permai. That's where Ju and me stayed as roommates for 2 semesters in our 2nd year. We both cheated our way to become roomies actually hehe... the hostel admind wanted to introduce race intergration by matching up roommates from different race and religion together then. So Ju and I (we fit the 'race intergration' terms what) pretended not to know one another and requested to be matched into the same room. Nasib dapat hahar!
This is School of Technology (i think hehe... forgot exact name lar). Ju, Yana and Alin's faculty.
Can you guys spot Ju in this pic?
Anita and I visited our ex-desasiswa, Desasiswa Cahaya (I stayed there for 2 sems during matric year). Anita got misty-eyed seeing the mirror edge deco she made years ago still intact and in good condition in her old room!
27th April 2008, Sunday
Before driving down to KL, we parked at Campbell Street to enjoy lunch at Hameediyah Restaurant and gobble down the famous Penang Chendol and Asam Laksa. And of course to buy pickles at Chow Rasta :-)
Anita can be a 'Penang Chendol' advertisement actress ya hehehe...
Had a quick detour to Penang's lil' India to grab 'Bru Cafe' (Indian Coffee) which Miss TweetyMuttley had pleaded for me to get. "Taste much better than Nescafe!" she claims! Well Anita and me got 1 packet for ourself as well. We'll see how sedap it is...
While there, this poster in one of the music shop amused me haha!
Then it was au revoir Penang and Jes, and back to KL we go...

28th April 2008, Monday
Spend the day at Cat Whiskers and The Curve before rushing to LCCT for me and Yana to catch our flight home (we were late so it was a real hurried bye-bye, no time to be emotional and all that hahar! Thanks Ju for being a wonderful hostess to us)

This mannequin seen in one of the boutique at The Curve hmmm...
