So what have you guys been up to during the 40 days of Lent?
Btw, Belated Happy Palm Sunday to those celebrating :)
It is becoming a sort of tradition for me and some of my (church) friends to abstain from eating meat (including keropok and soup also!) from Ash Wednesday till after Holy Saturday. We have about 5 more days to go and counting! If we make it, this will probably be the 4th years we manage to NOT eat meat for almost 40 days.
Lent time also means station-of-the-cross every Friday, choir prac for the Holy Week and this year with Fr. Peter around, weekly benediction and talks at our church.
Lent is also a time to give back to the community. With this in mind, our church group organized a visit to Sri Prichard Kinarut, Old Folks Home, last 1st March (this post way over-due). It was an insightful visit.

Cindy giving out the 'give-aways' at the male ward quater.The recent activity we had was last Saturday (15th March). Almost 100 over youths attended a short talk by Fr. Dr. Peter Abas. Fr. Peter held an open discussion with the youths about the problems young people usually face in their daily living; e.g: peer pressures, drug, relationship problem, sexuality (all ears perked up!), and such. Really interesting topics.
The questions and answer session was very intense and lively with many of the youths writing down their questions and problems for Fr. Peter to read out and offer advice/solutions.
The next program for the day was a mini telematch outside the church's compound. Everyone were divided into groups, from #1 - #7. (me group #2).
The first games was the "Brick Game" – Use 3 bricks to get from the starting point to the other end. The rule for this game is that you CANNOT step on the ground at all as you race to the other end. MUST STEP ON the BRICKS only!

The second game is the "Board Game" (boluti game hehe!!) 6 people in a group need to race to the other end using only two board. Same rule apply... NO STEPPING ON GROUND... MUST ON THE BOARD ONLY!
All contestant geared to race!
The third and last games... "Paper Church". Groups were given 25 minutes to build their dream church using newspaper ONLY. No selotape, scissor or glue.

It's Epiphany today.
Falls on January 6, Epiphany is the Christian feast commemorating the revelation of Jesus to humanity. Also the last day of Christmas whereby the three wise men from the Orient finally found baby Jesus and adored Him.
Wishing all my Christian friends and bloggers "a Happy Epiphany".

Goodbye 2007... Hewoooo 2008!
The last day of 2007 for me started out with a mad rush after work to Dragon Restaurant to collect RM100 worth of Japanese taufu and RM50 worth of salad chicken. There were so many take-aways on the tables with labels of recipients' name, yours truly included hehe...
Then off to caroling... 2 houses only as the rest had cancelled. Good-good-good *grin* My house was the last house, and as such we have prepared a feast for all to attack.
At the stroke of midnight... the dark sky and easy-going camaraderie of our guests were lit and shaken by loud crackings of firework displays! Left and right the colourful displays made the already charged atmosphere somehow charged up another notch.
Look up! It's a plane, it's a bird... it's a firework display!
Our DJ (Nicco) of the night promptly switched to "Auld Lang Syne" as everyone hugged and wished one another "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" ... "MAY ALL THE BAD LUCKS BE LEFT BEHIND IN 2007!" ... "YIKES! I'D BE A YEAR OLDER!" ... on and on it went ...
But for the younger cousins... the moment they've been waiting for has arrived!
Jump! Splash! Yay!
Hardwork paid off for Nicco & his pool cleaning crew hahar! The pool was an instant hit. See here, most of the pool occupants didn't expect to get fully wet... but... *evil grin* ... very stylish bathing getup they have on eh ;-P
Bro. Columba & his mates ... just having orange fizzy lar. And two Eayores... Chrissie's babies hmmm...
It was quite a chilly night, so some of us delicate ones opted to just wash some parts of our body and made a hasty retreat before the water gun hit us!
With our belly full, and year 2008 ushered in... the nescafes came out to invite everyone into getting cosy and chatty before one by one the sleepyheads finally called it a night :-) It was almost 3.30 am when the last tail-lights left our lawn.

Nicco, Faye & Bro used up the weekend to clean-up our once weed infested lil' pool in preparation and anticipation of tonight (ushering year 2008!) splash hmmm...
Day 1 (Saturday 29-Dec-07): The happy & cheap labour troupe :-)
These are the very same people whom incessant nagging or more like barking till your mouth turn blue normally won't get to move and do a tiny-weeny-bit of house chores to save their life! Talk about motivation... I guess ushering a new year won't be the same without some kind of water fight... or pool (however tiny) or getting splashed (even if self induced!) and getting wet.See here, they're even re-painting the pool! Hahar! Hardworking? Puh-lease...
Day 2 (Sunday 30-Dec-07)
BTW, the original inhabitant of the pool were three lil' river fish (dunno the name... sorry *grimace*) which Faye put into a basin temporarily. Alas... as of yesterday morning, the basin was empty! Mum said the neighbourhoof puddy-cats had kidnapped and eaten the poor things! Hmmm... we forgot to put a lid on the basin.
Note to self: Next time, remember our house is adopted by many stray cats who deem they can do as they please as well as get away with murder itself! Grrrrr...

Carolers come to office

Rasa Ria Resort's carolers paid us a visit yesterday at 3.00pm to spread Christmas cheers and joy. Oooo Christmas is in the air... just 12 more days from today to the 25th! Hehe... We all can start our "On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me..." countdown :-)
