Superstition: New Year!

These are some I've grown up hearing and have even applied hahar!
1) At the dot of midnight (the big cross over!), ideally take a bath, a dip or at least wash your face, hands, legs etc ... Washing yourself symbolises washing off the negative vibes of the year before, in this case year 2007.
2) Then after your midnight, or first bath on the new year, wear NEW panties/ underwear/ boxer as a sign of NEW beginning :-)
Our lil' pool is being filled up with pipe water as I'm blogging hehe ... and 2 NEW panties await in my undergarment's drawer *grin*
3) The third superstition... whatever ones does or happen on the first day of new year REFLECTS what ones might be doing/facing the whole year through.
Eg: If you work on 1st Jan, you'll see that you'd be working most of the time in 2008... if you spend time with family, then you'd be spending more time at home in 2008... you get my drift eh. My Indian colleague (the one and only...) said her family usually spend time at home on New Year... a great way to start the year actually eh... more family quality time it means I guess :-)
