Earlier this month (4th April), a team of education researcher from the Peninsular came over to Monsopiad Cultural Village to shoot some photos depicting Kadazan people in full traditional costumes. The models were paid RM50.00 each for their time, so Faye (my youngest sis) and Wei2 (cousin) were more than enthusiastic to sacrifice the better part of their Saturday morning being photographed with some other friends.

Me and 'Fairlady' (busybody aunt of mine) were the merri-making tag-along party.

As was explained by one of the team, they were looking for photos to use in future educational text-book. Hehe so these faces in the pic can expect to see their face becoming the object of scrutiny by future school children hehehhe...

Cat on Friday

This week's picture are of my two preggy cats--Ginger and lil' Red.
To date, both had given birth just 2-3 days apart a week back.

Guess how many kittens each had!

This is the teenage Red... and I thought she was putting on weight.

Even heavy with kittens, Red can still give Guli (the black dog) a good game of sparring.

Flashback 2 -- Ty's Sweet 16th Birthday

Ty turned 16 last 27th January...
Yeah a couple months back hehehe
I am indeed verry overdue with this entry, but better late than never right...

Usually the family have a combined birthday babies party, but since it was Ty's coming-of-age birthday, the parents decided it would be the appropriate occasion to invite close relatives, neighbours & friends to come & also an opportunity to catch up with each others' life.

It was a wonderful time to get together and ask about the going-ons in one another's' family & life in general. And it was a good surprise to see all the young cousin blossomed into lanky teenagers... goes to show how much time have passed by since the last meet-up!

Anyways... here is a combo pic of Ty trying to blow self-alighting birthday candles (that alight at the slightest sound made after being blown out).

Carrot cheese cake and Fresh cream fruit cake... both yummy!

The kiddos excited to see so many candles... hoping they get the honour to blow it but...

Utan Paradise & KK Adventure Land Trip

Tweety & I were off to another work-related adventure last Friday (20 March)... but this time we took along Clement to show us the way and act as our tour guide...

Our destination -- Utan Paradise Jungle Lodge.
Mission -- to determine whether the place is good enough for one of our photography workshop venue.
The lodge is situated along the new highway to Keningau. As we passed by Papar road, Tweety was most amused by 'this' (see pic below) and forced me to get down to snap some photos!

Mr. Moo-moo was clearly not impressed with me... Some drivers even took time to roll down their windscreen to say something unintelligible words, but sounded suspiciously like "apa ko buat oh!" or "hey, dari mana ko!" Honestly!

Some 1 hour 20mins later we reach 'Utan Paradise'.

The outdoor kitchen is seen on the left, and the hostel is the building on the right. The white Kelisa is our 'magic carpet'.

There's even a viewing porch behind the hostel building. If you're in luck, you might sight some rare birds Clement said.

This is the outdoor camping rooms... There are 5 tents altogether, which 3 of them can accomodate 3-4 pax, and 2 tents only accomodating 2 pax.

This one can fit in 3-4 pax. But if one were to pass wind could be havoc!

Next, off to see the forest trail... the trail also lead to a waterfall further inside.

Am so happy to be able to capture this pic of the red-butt dragonfly. I had to stay real still and wait for it to come close enough hehehe...

Another one with a darker and fatter head. Nasib I got good balance... else I'd be swimming with the fishes in the lil' pond.

Before we concluded our site inspection, I met Mr. Garfield! He was sooo friendly. Garfield belongs to Utan's caretaker, Anton. I wanted to play with Garfield more but...

Someone was in a dark mood cos her stomach was running empty ha ha!

Garfield looked forlorned as I reluctantly waved bye-bye...

Clement took us to his fav spot in Papar... Tweety and I were impressed with this Slice Ginger Fish creation! Creative kan... And it was tasty. Best part was, it was quite cheap.

Next, we wanted to inspect 'KK AdventureLand'.
The place is situated along Kinarut beach... very windy and peaceful.
The stuff there looked like fun... but quite scary for me as am no good with height! Yikes!

See how high the rope is from ground? You need to go through the obstacles up above ground with your teammates as part of a team-building challenge. There's also rock climbing facilities.

Tweety decided to show me her more agressive side ha ha! Look like a happy-go-lucky thug huh ...

Overall, we are hugely considering Utan as our next venue for one of our Photography Workshop this year. I for one look forward to returning there... to see cutey Mr. Garfield again!

Flashback 1 - New Year 2009!

Gosh, this is looong time overdue...
I know Kadazanmonk has been patiently waiting for all the storymories since that happened since January... Well, this is just one Flashback story out of several others ya

The cousins doing what they love most... posing for the cam. (Yours truly not in the pic for obvious reason ya)

The first Flashback is about New Year 2009 celebration, as usual hosted at home. The swimming pool was cleaned and decorated to resemble that of a lover's pool instead ... and the younger generation had a blast washing off all their bad luck of 2008 come midnight.

Red love shaped balloon adorned the pool... it was a freezing night!

The smaller grey coloured balloon were filled up with water to create 'water-balloon bom'... (the guys were enthusiastic, but the mommas gave them a good scolding instead, as it was a cold night haha!)

One addition this year is the long fire cracker... What a loud racket it made! And the smoke... gosh! All around the neighbourhood, firework display were painting the black sky colourful. It sounded and smelt like WW3 was underway at the strike of 12am!

The sound made by the fire cracker cleared our ear cannal of all ear wax...

Anyway, it was another New Year get together to remember... we all were too busy gossiping to bother about games or dances this year though.

Answer to - 'Tale of Two Pebbles'

If you have not read my entry on 'Tale of Two Pebbles' ... please read it first before finding out the answer below

And for those of you having read the entry and had tried to come up with a 'solution' for the poor girl ... let see what the girl decided to do to get out of her sticky predicament

Here is what she did...

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

'Oh, how clumsy of me,' she said. 'But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked.'

Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into an extremely advantageous one.

MORAL OF THE STORY?

Most complex problems do have a solution. It is only that we don't attempt to think. Start your day with this thought provoking story and have a fruitful day.

Tale of Two Pebbles

A dear friend, Hannah, emailed me this story which I think is real interesting. Some of you may have already read it before, but it's such a good read that's worth a second look :)

For those of you first time reading this story, there's a question at the bottom I'm interested to get your reply about... so if you have the time, I'd like to read your input hehe :P

TALE OF TWO PEBBLES

Many years ago in a small Indian village, a farmer had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to a village moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the farmer's beautiful daughter. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the proposal. So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let providence decide the matter. He told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.

2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.

3) If she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?

Careful, analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.
2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender as a cheat.
3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order to save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking. The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses the above logical answers.

What would you recommend to the Girl to do?

Ina S' 80th Birthday

Our Beloved Ina S (our grandma's only surviving sister) has reached the auspicious age of 80 years old

Many happy return to her.
We can only hope to enjoy a long wonderful life as Ina S

A lovely birthday party was organised by Ina S' loved ones at Donggongon's Lib function room last night (I never knew that room can be rented for such an occassion).
Lots of relative whom I've not seen for years came. The simple party was filled with traditional and modern performances by the younger children.

HNCT New Priest House :)

Today--28th February 2009--marks the blessing of HNCT new priest house...

My 'Cinderella' incident...

Gosh the last time I wrote an entry was LAST YEAR!
I’ve got so much to share, but I just can’t seem to find the perfect time mmm…
But this funny incident that befallen me during lunch today just screamed to be shared haha!

Aunty J and I were walking out of a supermarket when…
My Vincci shoe did a ‘Cinderella’ on me…

The whole sole just dropped, and I quickly made grab for it and hid it inside my 'lunch bag'! I stood on tip-toe on my left feet so as not to make it obvious. Thankfully I was wearing pants that’s long enough (imagine if I wore skirt!)

There is no shoe shop in Likas Square… so this had to be my temporary ‘shoe’…

Cute eh? Cost RM2.00 only hah!

Good thing I keep a spare shoe in my car… Phew!

Rear Car Seatbelt

It was like being doused by hot water...
"Bah jaga... if you not yet pasang your rear seatbelt by January 1st... habis! Saman RM300!"
This got me into some action...
Found this useful info that would also be most comforting if you're in the same boat as me.
Nasib my car is given 3 years grace to have the rear belt installed oh!

So if you're in KK-Putatan-Penampang area, the nearest place to have the belt installed (for FREE) is at Perodua Putatan branch. The branch is situated accross the road from Matahari Furniture building.
Apparently, car owners must register to make appointment to have the free installation done. The guy on the phone said there's already about 500 people registered with them at the moment, and their clerk will call me to set up my appointment later.
So better call them fast-fast if you want to do it at this branch... here's the number: 088-769123, 769124, 769125.

Movie - The Spirit

There's a score of movies I wanted to watch playing in our cinema now;
1) Bedtime Stories (fantasy story - I likey!)
2) The Day the Earth stood still (Sci-fi... not bad)
3) Australia (Epic... got Nicole Kidman & Wolverine)

But as me and friends reached the cinema last Sunday, just 10mins before 10pm... the closest movie about to play and available was "The Spirit".

A scene from the movie... Eva Mendes as Sand Serif and Gabriel Macht as yummy looking The Spirit.

I only know that this movie is another comic book adaptation, a hero created by a Will Eisner. I also know Eva Mendes, Scarlet Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson were acting in it too... Hmmm from the cast alone I imagine it to be a great movie, though I wasn't so keen on the synopsis.
As we were more not keen to wait for the next playing movie (almost an hour gap...), we thought to give "The Spirit" a go.

My take;

From the word GO! the movie gave out the feeling of a comic strip coming to life...
Although I must say the guy (Gabriel Macht) who acted as The Spirit/Denny Colt was undeniably VERY good looking... and Samuel L. Jackson was a riot as the hero's nemesis, Octopus... and the bevy of supporting ladies were all eye candies... Hmmm somehow I feel the whole package was missing something.
The sequence was fine, the back story was ample enough to get people like me who has never heard of this comic hero to get to know him and the people around him better, and the story on how The Spirit became who he is was also explained thoroughly. All my questions answered here...
Still I found the whole package to be a tad slow and boring in some places... Maybe it's just not my kind of movie. And some of my friends who were with me then even confessed to dozing off!

Hmmm so overall, I give this one 2.5/5 stars rating.

Can't believe it's 24th Dec already... seems just yesterday we celebrated Christmas and here it is again...
Mass at Holy Nativity Church Terawi is at 5.00pm. It's also our church feast day today, so this mean there's gonna be a mini makan-makan at the hall afterward. But I've gotta rush home cos we're also having our annual family Christmas gathering, and as usual my house will play host to this much awaited event!

A Wedding & A Drink afterward

Another storymory I wanted to share was about our colleague Caleb's wedding reception at STAR KK, earlier this month on the 8 December.

As I was fresh from the photography workshop in Kudat, I thought to try something different with my 'push & shoot' digi cam... with this result :(

Humph! I spoiled the newly-wed grand entrance pic instead! Cis!
I loved Eunice's (the radiant bride) wedding gown here... but too bad, due to my ambitious photo-taking method, I cannot show it here.

This pic was of the newly-wed, Caleb & Eunice, pouring out the champagne. But ngam-ngam time I clicked, the hotel men-in-black entered the scene heeesh...

After the reception ended around 10pm++, 3 senoritas & 3 senoras stopped by for a night cap at 'Blue Note', just adjacent to the ballroom. We had the place all to ourselves!

Yati emerged a better dancer that night hehehe...
Too bad the next day was a working day ooo hmmmmmmm...

Photography Workshop in Kudat

Tweety & myself were the working committee for a Photography Workshop held last 6 Dec in Kudat (yep, the extra workload from the workshop added to me having to neglect storymory...)

It was an eye opener to me on the subject photography itself... The art of taking photo is not as easy as I assume it to be! One of our speaker, Mr. Rabani, gave the participants their first assignment even before reaching Kudat.

"Take a photo that signifies Kg. Gombizau, a photo depicting its people and one on the honey-making business..." He said.

I thought this would make a great pic on Kg. Gombizau... But NO! This is a cliche kind of photo... so it's not good enough should i want to submit it to a magazine for publication.

This is the pic I took to show 'honey-making business' by the Gombizau folks... Apparently this one it too COMMON. Will probably get a publisher go ballistic on me!
Personally, I likey this pic cos of that infectious smiley poster of Dicky Lee on the far right haha!

Can you guess what this photo supposedly be? Yeah.. the third assignment... a pic that depicts Gombizau peeps. I was fascinated with lil' Ellu here (it sounded like that when I asked him for his name) and his cute bare-feet. Quite a photogenic boy huh.
SO what's wrong with this pic?
Apparently too general and wide to matter. How to take a better pic of lil' Ellu then?

Take a close-up of him and a good backdrop. I decided the definition of the rumbia walled-house would make a great backdrop then.
What you guys think? Which photo of Ellu is better?

The star charm of lil' Ellu attracted Anna to take photos of him too... That's Borneotrekker in the pink top, checking if her photos turn out ok :)

Out workshop was conducted at Kudat Golf and Marina Resort, which has a great swimming pool!
In one of his session, Mr. Rabani displayed everyone's photo and commented on how to improve it further and why it was a weak one.
One thing he thought us was that we should always take the time to get to know our subject (our photo-snapping victim) and getting their permission to capture their photos.

Meanwhile, Miss Storymory went hunting for the famous Kacang Kudat... RM4.00 for small packet and RM8 for the bigger one. It was drizzling the whole morning, so our kind bus driver lent the plastic raincoat to some of us. Smelled a little bit of dried prawn, but as I have a super sensitive head (almost instantaneous headache if kena hujan bah!)... I didn't mind.

The workshop took 2 days and a night... by the time we reach KK on the 7th Dec (Sunday), it was already dinner time... Kudat to KK is a 3hours journey. So super ravenous tweety treated me, Jen and Ulai to a most delicious dinner at Jothy in Api-Api Centre.

We had loads of fun during the workshop. Photographers are the most easy-going and LEAST fussy group I've ever traveled with. Till the next photography workshop next year...

KL & Melaka Trip ...

I finally get a night free to catch up on poor storymory...
And not to mention read up on the happenings in friends' blog!

But first, here's one of the few storymory I've been meaning to share...
*Be warn... it might get a bit lengthy... *

KL & Melaka Trip - 20th to 25th November 2008.

Mum, me & Iby (Dona) flew to KL for her graduation from Unitar (officially a teacher now). We stayed at Holiday Villa Hotel, Subang which has a very spacious room complete with sink at one corner. The pic still in my hp, so unable to share...

Graduation day was on 22nd Nov at PICC (Putrajaya International Convention Centre). But we had to come earlier for the rehearsal and for the robe.

This is the view inside PICC main hall during rehearsal. The whole rehearsal deal was kind of disorganized! And the guy yapping away on the mike had this shrieky high pitch voice *sigh*

22nd Nov... D-Day!
Taken on stage after the pomp and ceremony ended. Those teddy-bear bouquet cost a bomb! At least it won't wilt like live flowers. Congrats to Iby!

Couldn't get a bird-view pic of PICC building... so a miniature is good enough to show how it looked like ya. Kind of reminds me of China's Bird Nest Stadium hehe...

The next day we relocated to Hotel Capitol. The rest of the time was spent exercising our legs at the guise of window-shopping at the various shopping complexes. How come I don't feel any lighter?

On 24th Nov we rented a tourist van and a driver-cum-guide to take us to Melaka... One of the states I've never stepped foot in before this. Took 2hours to drive from KL to Melaka.
My impression? Lovely landscaping and generally clean. Modern and Old-Days at the same times... a charming blend. Not the place if you want to shop... But great for photo-taking and learning about one of the most famous state in our country's history book.

Hang Li Po's Well.
For the chinese princess' exclusive use and later became the only source of water during great droughts. It has a reputation as a wishing well too... but I only knew this after we left the place *darn!*

Next to the well site is this chinese temple...

The stair in the background leads to Stadthuys, built in 1650 as the official residence of Dutch Governors and their officers. Our guide pronounced it something like 'stad-hai'. This pic is of mum & a floral-decorated beca.

Adjacent to Stadthuys is 'Christ Church Melaka', built by the Dutch.

Along the right side of the church are colourful stalls selling souvenirs. With so many tourist that day I am amazed none was captured in this pic! Makes the place look desserted huh.

In front of the church is this signature clock tower.

Further up hill is Admiral Cheng Ho Cultural Museum, displaying about 2000 historical items related to the admiral and the Ming Dynasty (15th century).

Much further up at St. Paul's Hill is St.Paul's Church, built by the Portuguese. The white statue is of St. Francis Xavier (note the statue's right hand is missing! Mr Driver-cum-guide say the real St F. Xavier was actually missing a limb too, but the statue lost it's hand when a random thunder hit it. Dunno how true lar)

Upon entering the church's ruin, this is the view that you'll get.

Several Tombstones with Dutch words engraving leaning against both side of the wall. Mr driver-cum-guide said the Dutch converted the church to burial ground after taking over power from the Portuguese (The Dutch built Christ Church as their praying place instead)

Frontal view...

The most well-known Melaka Landmark... the A'Famosa at Porta de Santiago. It was the fortress of the Portuguese, badly damaged when the Dutch invaded in 1641.
I imagine it to be a lot bigger than it actually is. Looks larger than life on telly tho.

When stomach start to grumble-grumble... Mr. Driver-cum-guide suggested this restaurant for delicious authentic Baba-Nyonya dishes *yum!*

After lunch, took a good walk around Jonker street which is just around the corner from the restaurant. The street reminds me of Chow Rasta Road in Penang. Varieties of unique items being sold... food, souvenirs... collectibles... etc.

Saw this in one of the shops... mahal oo! RM190++.

Then we had this... Bibik cendol * yum!*

After rounding up a few other places of interest, we call it a day and head back to KL.

A very successful lawyer parked his brand new Lexus in front of the office, ready to show it off to his colleagues.
As he got out, a truck came along too close to the car and completely tore off the driver's door.

Fortunately, a cop in a police car was close enough to see the accident and pulled up behind the Lexus, his lights flashing.
But, before the cop had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming hysterically about how his Lexus, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter how the body shop tried to make it new again.

After the lawyer finally wound down from his rant, the cop shook his head in disgust and disbelief.

"I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said.
"You are so focused on your possessions that you neglect the most important things in life."

"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, "Don't you even realize that your left arm is missing?
It got ripped off when the truck hit you!!!"

"OH, MY GOD!" screamed the lawyer.

Kudat Trip with TweetyMuttley

Hewoooo guys! Sorry for being quiet lately... I've not been able to sit still long enough to blog though I've got tonnes to share...

First thing first, Tweety and I drove up to Kudat yesterday for work purpose and we're safely back at 4.00pm++ today. The journey took about 3hours from KK to Kudat, and back again
And you can bet, traveling with Tweety can be full of adventure! A normal boring trip can end up being an extraordinary one...
Despite nursing a swollen (which has since got cured) big toe (due to an ingrown nail)... Tweety was a champion driver. With her favourite Malayam (hey Tweety, is this the right spelling?) songs blarring and her shiny brown sport shoes on, off we go to Kudat at 3.00pm++ yesterday. Reach the Golf & Marina Resort at roughly 6.00pm.

I was having great fun capturing Tweety's take of the trip...
We had a first class parking space right in front of the Korean flag (i think)...

and I discovered Tweety had a verrry unique luggage! She forgot she had a normal one back home hehehe...

We were verrry farmished by the time we were done checking ourselves in... But Tweety only had this to say...

The next day, after wrapping up the 'work' part of our trip, we were off again to another day of adventure. Thinking of our darling friends back in the office, we thought we ought to grab some nice Kudat signature oleh-oleh... Aaah kacang Kudat mari... sedap! *thumbs up!*

Then I saw this in one of the stall... the cute girl manning the stall said it's called kuih bandam (well, it sounded like that) or corn-pie. I remember this kuih from forevertulip and was verrry curious to try it. I got Tweety to eat it as well hehe! It's simply delish!!!!!! I like! Tweety of the discerning tongue also approved.

Before bidding sayonara to Kudat, we searched for the old Kudat Resthouse which Tweety remembered staying in back in 1974++ when she was still a naughty little girl. And hurray! We found it! Some jejak kasih that was hehe! According to Tweety, the architecture has not changed much but the interior has gone through some major renovation.

On the way back to KK, Tweety got me almost bankrupt buying all sort of stuff... Forgot to take pictures though. Here's one of Tweety in one of our stops along the way.

All in all, we had a great trip and even had time to appreciate nature's beauty spread before us as we drove home

Hair Make-over!

Yay! I got a FREE hair digital perm-ing last Friday.
Yup, FREE

There was a beauty & saloon exhibition being held inside our office building from Tuesday of last week till Saturday. Initial round up did not catch my fancy as most of the stuff on display or for sales were hairstylist or beautician tools of the trade.

Then one of the booth was doing demos on the function and method of using the digital-perm machine and so needs real hair model. Finding out it's for free, me and another cute blogger unashamedly agreed to be hair-model'!

I mean, I heard the hair-guy was from KL and so for him to come down and do demos, I figured he must be quite good (usually I’m verrry fussy and reserved about who touch my hair coz of my bad-saloon-hair phobia). I suppose one look at my gloriously unruly and shapeless mane got the hair-guy hands itching to snip-snip-snip!

"Your hair soooo thick have to trim before perm," was his very word.

Sure enough, by the time he finished ‘trimming’ my hair, I was shock to see the amount of hair (balls) on the floor! So much hair it’s probably enough to make a cute toupee!

Alas… I didn’t bring my cam with me. But fortunately several wonderful colleagues caught me in the act hehe! Anyways… for today, I can only share this pic of me and the hair-guy in action (pic courtesy of spiritofeast). Will post the end result photo later when I get it from another colleague who took it with her cam

Ducks in Heaven

Kadazanmonk emailed me this hillarious story about ducks in Heaven... rather than just forward it to my selected few, I thought I should share it with my blogger friends too! It's just so funny bah *LOL*...

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!"

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.
St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps.
She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin. St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The happy woman says, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"
The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!"

Swallowed a fat toad...

That's how I feel right now...
Like I swallowed a fat kicking and scrambling toad...

Thanks for all the good advices in yesterday's post ya... I did try one or two.
During lunch time yesterday I bought a nice smelling lemon to make a cup of lemon tea. But in my enthusiasm, I think I squeezed too much juice cos' my tea turn out to give me facial-exercise instead! So sour!
Just cos it's my creation, I manfully drank half of the cup... cannot go on ler... it got more sour as I drank on!
Having failed with the lemon tea, I then bought the famous cough syrup 'Cap Ibu dan Anak', Orange flavoured Scott Emulsion (I know it's too late at this stage) and Milidon (in case I become feverish).

After a good night sleep, woke up this morning with the toad still stuck in my throat... but luckily the hint of fever I felt last night dissolved to just a touch of lethargy...
Hope Mr. Toad leave sooooooon... Hate being sick... but if I can still walk, I'd avoid seeing a doc. I know, I'm that stubborn...

I got husky voice now...
Got sore throat mmmmmm... *poor me*
My tonsil and uvula area felt real uncomfortable yesterday... Like grains of sand were glued to the back of my throat! And just as my whole tongue and back throat started to go numb, my supply of Difflam ran out...
With no pharmacy nearby (lazy to drive all the way anyway), I remembered the 'iklan' Strepsils where it is indicated that if one feels like the uvula has turned into a sawing machine, sucking Strepsils can blunt the edges and ultimately restore the uvula to health! Ta-da!
Luckily the supermarket next door to our office have the lozenges.
After reading the labels of various Strepsils flavour, I decided the Blackcurrant Strepsils was the most suitable as it has a numbing effect to relieve sore throat...
And boy, did it numb my tongue! Same effect as Difflam...
Food suddenly tasted like paper and my appetite gone off to a brief vacation.
But alas, even with no appetite and a numb tongue... I feel bloated and buncit... *sigh*

So what's the point of this entry you ask me?
Saja I want to rant and rave about having a dratted sore throat...
Anyone else with the same malady?
What you guys taking to relieve the scratchy feeling?
Anyway, I do hope you guys are in tip-top health... I'm blaming it all on this miserable weather we're having these pass weeks

Hewooo peeps… My blogging mood is somewhat affected by the dreary weather lar… been cloudy then thunderstorm in the evening lately here… siooooksss to ZZzzzzzz…

Anywayssss, there are two ‘congratulations’ in order…
Firstly…to Chun-chun on his Confirmation last Saturday… nah Chun, you’re a Soldier in Christ’s Army ody!

Secondly…to both Chun-chun & Wei-wei for obtaining their Junior Black-Belt in Taekwondo last Sunday… Oooooh I feel safer with two able bodyguards hahar!

And let’s not forget those who are sitting for the PMR… (my bro & Pam are two people in the family taking this exam this year)… incidentally they both started using spectacles just last month, probably from all the ‘burning the midnight oil’ last minute frantic studying kekeke! Imagine going back to those days of study-exams urgh! O well, today’s already the 2nd last day… they’ll soon be liberated… Merdeka!

Gosh... I feel like a phyton that swallowed a full goat!
Tweety, Aunty J, BorneoTrekker and myself had pizza set for lunch today.
Tweety's on a vegetarian diet for 40days, so she had one of those meat-less pizza set. The three of us tried the RM7.90 (RM9.35 after taxes) set menu pizza in 3 different flavor... Waikiki Chicken (mine), Chicken with wonder egg (Aunty J) and Chicken tropical (BorneoTrekker). Each set comes with 2 breadsticks, soup of the day and a glass of soft drink.
Our verdict; Waikiki taste somewhat like a laid-back Hawaian Supreme (nice!)... the other two were a bit sweet with lots of mayo. The tropical set had sweet corn on it, so taste a bit corn-mayo-like...

Anyways... while waiting for our orders IMpatiently... we saw this;

Last Monday, a chorus of distant mewing greeted me as I got off my car at our office parking lot. It sounded like newborn kittens but I couldn't place their location, so I shrug it off thinking their mother would be at hand to nurse them...

Then 2 days back, two big hearted 'human' daddies were caught relocating the 3 kittens into a nice clean box and trying to feed them milk! (The two saviors are quite shy and prefer to remain anon...) They were even asking around the office for anyone willing to adopt the newborn. Seems the kittens' mother had deserted and left them going hungry... Hope they can survive, and one 'baby face' colleague would really be taking them home once they're more independent.

All in a day...

My Wednesday (yesterday) was full of activities...
First in office, the few of us kiasu girls celebrated two of our colleague's birthday with two cheese cakes from Uncle Biscuit. Sedap! Any reason to eat cake is a good reason ya.

Then after work, I met up with my two old friends Momoi & Alex... we had 2 celebrations;

Momoi's baby belated fullmoon (unfortunately we had to leave baby Ah Feng behind at home)
Alex's new house (Momoi & I are most honoured to be his first guest)

... so naturally our venue was Alex's house at Ganang Villa (i think), where Momoi & I were given the grand tour and met 3 months old Toby.

Too bad it wasn't Friday, so the festivity had to be cut short. But all in all, it's really nice to get together with friends now and then whenever our busy schedule permits

I was grinning to myself reading about the mysterious content of Nessa's handbag, and was keen to check out the other links leading to more 'handbags exposure' There's just something about seeing other women's handbag and comparing it's content with yours... Then I remembered... Nessa said she's got a tag for me in her blog... could this be the tag?
OMGosh! Yes!
I'm sort of excited to do this tag (thanks Nessa!), but there is also risk of a slight backfire... people might either admire, be hugely amused or (gasp!) snickers at what I'd be exposing here! I don't mind the first or second reaction. But if I were to get this tag a month ago, I can positively say the reaction would have been the third. You see, I’ve just changed handbag from my goody-ol’ trusty one which I sayaaaang but koyak-rabak ody bah… So nasib oso lah cos if not maybe I’d give this tag a miss!

Pink handyplast (one just never know when it's needed)

Clean & Clear face blotter (my face tend to get real oily in the evening)

Definitely my lil' handphone & wallet... if can squeeze a third item, it'd be my car key lar hehe...

Hmmm... I'm not particularly embarrassed of any of the stuff inside my bag, they're all necessary to me (with varying range of importance lar). Otherwise what for me cram it in?

New addition to the stray family...

Hear Ye, Hear Ye...

Announcing we have four adorable addition to the ever expanding stray family...
Orange (the cream coloured stray 'bitch') has 4 new puppies, 3 males and 1 female.

Orange... the loving mother of 4 cutsie pups!

I have a question tho; Do dog undergo the 'teething phase' as well? I wonder...
Lately my house compound seems to get 'decorated' with one half of shoes and slippers filled with teeth-marks strewn all over the lawn, pieces of torn newspaper decking the floor and rubbish laying around all over the place. All thanks to the hard-work of four playful pups!!!

This month alone I've bought like 3 new flip-flop slippers as one half always get imprinted with teeth marks or got lost altogether! Harrumph!
Now this is why I prefer dignified and well behaved kitties to these ill-mannered ruffians. Nasib kiut... Kalo tidak...

Gendut is so named because he's the chubbiest of the litter. He is also the most opposed to taking a bath and a loud cry-baby!

Lady here is the lone rose among thorns, and like to get her head patted and cheek rubbed. She loves bath time and would sit through the session quietly :) But in this pic, she is caught red handed acting so very UNlady-like, with pieces of newspaper, a choc box and one of mum's slipper as her toy!

Milo and Creamer might as well be born twins! They are so inseparable. They sleep together, play together and eat together... Both hates bath time, but can be persuaded with a biscuit or two ">

A wedding & Hari Raya

I had a really FULL day today...

My stomach feels soooo heavy right now from all the Raya foods...
It's my own fault for being big-eyed of course... But how can I say NO to good food, right?
I attended a friend's wedding in the morning and spent the rest of the afternoon till late evening visiting 4 houses celebrating Raya.
I should have rationed my stomach bah... but from the first destination, I became greedy to taste each and all the dishes and kueh raya available...
In each place I was hoping they'd have the milk powder version of kueh makmur... but all four places only had the icing type... mmmm... still sedap lah, but lama already I crave the milk powder type, so a bit dissapointed la ... but overall, I ate way toooo much la.
Nevermind just today mah kan...

Anyhow, I'm sure most of you out there had similar 'big-eyed' day too today hehe...

Reading this piece of news in the newspaper made my eyebrow shoot to the sky!
What? Does this mean if any of my grandparents or any senior citizen were to accidentally loose their IC they might end up demoted to a PR (permanent resident) status???!!!

Check out this quote from the news;
"I asked the officer why it was red (the IC) and she replied that for senior citizens who lost their IC, the department would normally replace them with red IC."

"...normally replace..." This practise is normal?? Bikin panas!
Then how come the foreigners can easily get a 'blue' IC? Something is really wrong here.

Yong's misfortune began the day her wallet went missing from her handbag at a supermarket at Penampang Baru on Feb. 12 last year.
Inside the wallet were her Identity Card, driving licence, bankbooks, a gold necklace, RM500, a gold-plated pearl locket, two golden crosses and a set of car keys.
On the same day, she lodged a police report and on Feb. 26, she applied for a replacement IC at the NRD office in Donggongon.
After several months, Yong was told to collect her replacement IC at the NRD office - but the colour was red. "I asked the officer why it was red and she replied that for senior citizens who lost their IC, the department would normally replace them with red ICs," she said.
Only when she returned home did she learn from one of her sons, Frankie, 55, that red ICs are issued to people with Permanent Resident status.
Her children told Yong to return to the NRD office to replace the red IC with the MyKad issued to Malaysian citizens. However, the NRD officer this time told her to "apply for Malaysian citizenship" instead.
The NRD officer admitted it could have committed an error somewhere and Yong duly submitted the application form to the office on July 2, last year.
But that was not the end of her problem. Soon after, her bank accounts were frozen and she could not withdraw money for her daily expenses.
Frankie said his mother also had difficulty travelling outside the country since she could not renew her expired passport.

He caught my eyes cos' he seems to be smiling in his sleep!

Must be some dream he's having hehe...

And his fading fur coat was really fluffy-soft to stroke.

Holy Nativity's Down Memory Lane Dinner

Our church held a grand charity dinner at KDCA yesterday (Sunday) with the purpose of Remembering Past Leaders contributions, and also to garner more moolahs for our church maintenance.

There were lots of excitement with old friends meeting up and catching up... and some even got the chance to be up close and personal with some AF artists!

Astrid & Minnie were picked by Ebi to come on stage as his back-up dancers. In the excitement, ~~a limping~~ Aunty F sprinted to the stage edge to capture this photo!

Hannah, Faye and Lalitha's daughter spent almost the whole evening behind stage! Looks like Felix found a favourite

My first purchase when my credit card was approved years back was several novels from Amazon.com. I couldn’t find those novels from any bookstore near me and I wanted them something fierce. So imagine my delight when I finally get to own them, no matter by whatever means Then I got to know that I can get these same novels for almost 70% cheaper, if I were to buy them second hand. As long as all the pages were intact, I was game. Most of the online retailers selling second hand books were from the US. To my dismay, most of these retailers only ship locally, or to neighbouring countries only and not all the way to Asian countries… What a bummer!

Miaow miaow miaow... it was this poor nameless kitty (I think the hidden kitten of our very prolific breeder Kuzan the b****) who made those very pitiful mewing I keep hearing. And I thought it was Red the stray kitten. 'Nameless kitty' here looks a lot like Red, only his fur is slightly faded in colour, and his eyes looks quite unhealthy. The poor darling I wanted to rescue him from the hut (grandparent's storage house) but at the same time I'm worried his mom (Kuzan) might not want to take care of him anymore later. Maybe I'll let him grow a bit older first...

I Heart Seafood

I was checking out this great site www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and came across the 5 finalists of the 2008 Great American Seafood cook off. The 5 scrumptious photos got me salivating like a dog on a hot day! My favourite of the five is the Texas Gulf Shrimp (over hominy cakes with heirloom tomato relish drizzled with prickly pear gastrique) created by Chef Mark Holley from Texas.

I like this recipe best because the ingredient listed Jumbo Shrimp and tomatoes, two of my favourite food The photo of 'Texas Gulf Shrimp' showcased this huge shrimp which totally stole my attention from the other four photos, and it looks simple and doable by a mediocre cook like me. Only, when I do try to re-create this dish, I might need to cut down on most of the other ingredients hehe… I’m not up to that standard just yet. It’s really fortunate that Sabah is rich with fresh and huge shrimps so there is no need to buy imported ones. I believe domestic seafood are fresher and more sustainable than an imported one, and these qualities are important to produce tasty seafood dishes. Otherwise, even the best recipe will taste and smell bad if cooked using stale seafood.

A week ago our church's Sunday School conducted a colouring contest for kids in year 1-6. As is anything to do with kids, you're sure to find some real gem and also copper amongst their work. So certainly we had fun going through all the pictures and selecting the winning art from each class.

O yeah, I spent a good 1hour at Sabah Trade Centre last Sunday (24th Aug) to attend this much publicized Cat Show First, I was taken aback when a stern lady said, "buy your ticket first!" as I was rushing in in my excitement.
Aik? Not free meh? Never-the-mind... I coughed out RM5.00 and RM2.00 for my sister Faye. We got this red chop on our wrist as 'ticket' (took 3 days for it to wear off!)

I must be in Cat's Heaven... I must be sooooo elated!... NOT!
I wasn't able to cuddle any of the darlingssss... just snap photos ("with no flash please dear?")

Most of the poor cats were dozing away, only the slight up-down movement of their tummy reveals that they were breathing and alive. Some looked spooked, most were closed up nicely by their owners that you don't get to see anything!

Anywayssss... these are photos I managed to take before the sour faces of some of the owners turned me off *Humph!!!*

My fav! I call him Smiley, cos he looks like he's smiling at all of us gawkers.

This one looked verrry spooked and had to be calmed by it's owner. Looks like Puss in Shrek2 doncha think?

Can it work you think? I mean, there’s load of memorable lines we tend to repeat at odds moment, and some are romantic flirty lines too. If it works in the movie, can these lines actually work in real life?

Recently I came across an old Marilyn Monroe comedy ‘Some like it Hot’ where her sexy character, Sugar Kane said, “I have this thing about saxophone players,”
Wohoooooooo! and didn’t she melt the fella’s heart

Sugar Kane’s come on line landed her a romantic moment with Joe (Tony Curtis) on a yatch and well… they both got their Victory Hair afterward. But they must have been using Extreme Style by VO5 as their hairs still manage to look sexy in a tousled wind-blown look. Duh!

I'm sure many of you have blogged about the great tragedy of Survey (Penampang Baru Branch) being burnt down to the ground. I remembered that night, 20th August last Wednesday, me and a friend were coincidentally driving to Survey to buy last minutes supplies for our trip to Ranau (for SYD2) the next day. We saw thick black smoke and wondered if there was a fire nearby. True enough, as we drove by the main highway, we saw big fire engulfing a building. But it never occurred to us it could be Survey! "Must be the building behind Survey," we thought then.
Crowd were gathered at all sides of the main road and more gathered as we neared Survey. Then we saw it... Survey was on fire

"Alamak! Where la me buy new towel this?" my friend exclaimed.
It was an unbelievable sight... As we made a U-turn to go back to the main road, we heard siren and one lone fire truck appeared. Just one?????

Unfortunately I didn't take my cam along that night. But I manage to take these photos the next day on the way to Ranau. Such a sad sad sight...

Sabah Youth Day -- Ranau

Christian Youths from all over Sabah will gather at St Peter's Claver, Ranau for the 5 days long 2nd Sabah Youth Day event starting today (19th-23rd August 2008).
If you have a family member or friends joining this event, you can view what they're up to HERE
The site, when Ranau weather permits, display a live telecast of the on-going activities in Ranau.

This is the second Sabah Youth Day (SYD) which is held once every 4 years like the Olympic. The first one was hosted by Keningau. SYD is akin to World Youth Day or Asian Youth Day, only with Sabah Youth Day it is obviously open only for Sabahan Youths.
My form 3 bro (who should be using the holiday to do more revision or smart studying for PMR) has been adamant to join. So on Thursday, this super-spy sent by the 'parents' will travel with the Penampang Youth Praise Team (who will be performing at the SYD closing concert on Friday) to looksee how bro and gang are doing. Live telecast not enough.

Mei Ling's stork has arrive :-)

I was just leaving my office last Friday when (Dr) Alex called me with the expected news of Mei Ling's safe delivery.
This news was indeed anticipated after Alex and I gave the nurses in Damai Specialist (DSC) a good laugh last Thursday after a false alarm by Mei Ling. She sms-ed us in the morning that she was being admitted to DSC. And our consequent sms were not replied. What would you think? No reply means someone was probably hard at work to bring a new person in this World, right?
So there we were, asking the nurses for a new mother warded in their clinic by the name of 'Mei Ling'.

"Errr... never heard of this name."
"Not in our list lar. Try SMC. Maybe she's there..."

The date was clearly not April 1st... we were definitely not there for some April Fool fun. In the end, Alex called dear Mei Ling. Seems she opted to go home as she was only 1cm dilated hmmm. Listening to our conversation, the nurses errupted in gales of laughters. Well, at least we provided some entertainment for them.

So the next day (Friday, 15 August 2008), Mei Ling only sms-ed us after lil' Chong Ze Feng who weight 3.48kg arrived safely at exactly 12.08noon. It took two good push to usher him out the proud mum said

He's such a cutie-pie... look at him sleeping soundly (this was the closest I could get under the hawkish nurses' eyes)

I'm having a blogging hiatus these past few days...
Lazy big time!
Am involve with the Sabah Youth Day (SYD-2) organizing and preparation in our parish (happening 19-23 Aug) and also our church Fund Raising Dinner to bulk up the church maintenance fund (7 Sept). To top it of, our church is also the host for the upcoming Sunday School Kiddies week where there'll be several competitions going on (20-21 Sept).
Phew! Will be much relieved when it's all over...
Need more time at home to recuperate and be a total coach potato hah!

BTW, you guys following the Beijing Olympic?
Even with all the nightly activities, I'm trying to catch glimpses of my fav events--Artistic & Rhythmic Gymnastics, Diving, Synchronised Swimming and Swimming.
So far I've only managed to watch a bit of the swimming and diving event... and the qualifying round of the men Artistic Gymnastic.
Double dang! I totally missed the women Artistic Gymnastic which I've been looking forward to!
Anybody know if there'll be a repeat? Please leave the info here if you do. Will be much appreciated.
*Now I'm hoping to catch the Rhythmic Gymnastic*

Wish I was a great gymnast or a brilliant synchronize swimmer... but thinking of the harsh discipline involved, I'd rather just be a fan of the sport hehe!

This is 'Little'... the offspring of two marmalade-coloured parents...

That's Oren and Ginger with their only kitten which I named 'Little'.
But Little has been 'adopted' (without my knowledge and it happened when I was away at work so didn't get to say bubbai) by our neighbour kid , who is actually the original owner of Little's parents (Oren & Ginger).

I meant to post this last Saturday...

But was in a verrry slumberous mood to even peek into my laptop.

The lazzzy mood spilled over till today actually... but gotta fight back lar.
This is what I get for getting 5kg heavier!
The aftermath of my B-Day last Friday...

My B-Day morning didn't feel like a birthday-morning...
We had an important event to over-see at 10am...
So that was pretty much in my mind.
Then at about 8.50am (in office), dear not-very-good-at-acting TweetyMuttley provided some amusement ...
Aunty J was her usual deadpan self... like nothing out of the ordinary was happening.
But dear tweety let out the 'secret' through her self-conscious mumblings!
Tweety: (Holding a bag) "Aunty J ordered these for Ethan..."
So of course my curiosity was peaked.
Me: "I'm curious. What have you (Aunty J) got for Ethan again now?" I stood up to snoop.
Awwwww... the two naughty-naughty got a marble cheese cake (from Uncle Biscuit) for me...

So I had to keep blowing till the wax's all gone.

Gone in a matter of minutes.

When I reached home... Another errrr cake... a unique one, greeted me
Needless to say it was delicious!
Treated my family to Pizza for dinner (mum's choice).I thought I won't be able to eat even a bite... but hmmm...
Saturday... I felt the weight all over my body.
Must diet. Reduce carbo. Must diet. Reduce carbo.

Then Monday... dear Irene S left this as a belated birthday gift.
(Karlfazer pure premium milk chocolates... I looove!)

And as proove of the 5kg new fat tissues residing inside me...
My used-to-be verrry loose pant fitted me snuggly as I put it on this morning.

But all in all... my B-Day was Fun-Filled & did not left me wanting for anything else.

Errrrh not me ah... but my dear ol' buddy Mei Ling aka Momoi.
She's expecting a lil' Prince next month (yay! He'll be a Leo like me )

Am taking this opportunity (wah so skema kan) to wish Momoi & Hubs CONGRATS on their soon-to-be parents status

Yesterday after work, Dr. Karen aka Dr.K who seems to look perpetually like a Form 5 student, Dr. Alex, and yours truly had dinner with mommy-to-be Momoi at Upperstar Damai.

Aaah it's always wonderful to catch up with old friends... though, I for one didn't feel the long gap in between the last time we all met up (1 years++ back?).

Although Momoi is due around 15th August... Alex predicts that she might deliver on the auspicious date of 8th August 2008... to which Momoi added "maybe at exactly 8.08 am/pm!"

To me, as long as lil' Prince still be a Leo any date will do "> Told Momoi if she gives birth earlier on 31st July, then her baby will share the birthday date of Harry Potter and JK Rowling

'Curi Tiram' in my mind...

This one funny episode keeps coming back to me all through the weekend.
Yep, it’s about ‘curi tiram’ (stealing Oyster)

It happened several years ago during a youth committee meeting which a fresh-out of school me was the newly elected secretary.
The youth coordinator was listing out and discussing all the activities we were to be involved in that month.
I was not familiar with most of the activities suggested.
At one time, Mr. Coordinator mentioned a very intriguing activity…
‘curi tiram’.
He said it was for a good cause and will be lots of fun for us to participate.
I asked the fellow next to me, but I remembered the person was unsure how this ‘curi tiram’ activity works as well.
So I just jot down whatever was being said like a good secretary.

The following meeting, as we were going through the minute…
Mr. Coordinator suddenly burst out laughing… the laugh-till-tears-come-out-shoulder-shaking-but-no-sound kind…

“Apa ini ‘curi tiram’?” (What’s this ‘curi tiram’?) he asked once he was able to control himself (barely).

Perplexed, I explained that it was one of the fun activities he mentioned in the last meeting.

Another bout of hard laughter… the rest, to my relief was also equally puzzled.

Finally…

“Bukan curi tiram bah….” (not ‘curi tiram’)

So what?

“CHARITY RUN!”

* Now that I’m older and wiser, I now know he meant the Sutera Harbour 7km Charity Run*

Another interesting email I'd like to share
This was real enlightening for me (or maybe I'm just this ignorant?)
So just in case you guys also never know about it... am sharing it here.

The NUMBERS on the sticker labels on fruits we buy in the market actually tell us how the fruits were grown.
The fruits are either;
1) Organically grown,
2) Conventionally grown - with pesticides and herbicides, or
3) Genetically engineered fruits (beats me what this means. Somebody explain?)

How to tell the difference from the numbers?

1) Organically grown - the numbers have five digits and starts with the number 9 eg: 99225
2) Conventionally grown - have four digits only, never starts with '9' and mostly starts with the number 4 eg: 4922
3) Genetically Modified fruits (GMO) - numbers start with the digit 8 eg: 89222

The safest fruit to eat is of course the organically grown . Try to avoid buying the conventionally & genetically modified ones!

So next time you buy fruits, check the numbers on the sticker label first. Shop safe!

Fried Durian Rice

Yep, you read that right
Fried Durian Rice!
That was our dinner at home last night.
Grandma boasted that this unique dish was what fed my dad and his siblings during their growing years.
And now, the recipe has been handed to my mum to continue...
What to do, it's dad's fav dish...
So when there's Durian at home this is what we have for dinner!

The ingredients;
1) Durian
2) Overnight rice (cos' it's harder)
3) A lil' bit of salt as you like it
4) A lil' bit of oil

One of the easiest dish to cook up. Just throw all the ingredient together and mix well.
Just curious (cos' so far I've never heard anyone else say so), any of you eat your Durian this way too

A timeless lesson on how Consultants can make a difference for an organization

Last week, we took some friends out to a new restaurant, and noticed that the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed a little strange.

When the busboy brought our water and utensils, I noticed he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around and saw that all the staff had spoons in their pockets. When the waiter came back to serve our soup I asked, "Why the spoon?"

"Well," he explained, "the restaurant's owners hired Andersen Consulting to revamp all our processes. After several months of analysis, they concluded that the spoon was the most frequently dropped utensil. It represents a drop frequency of approximately 3 spoons per table per hour. If our personnel are better prepared, we can reduce the number of trips back to the kitchen and save 15 man-hours per shift."

As luck would have it, I dropped my spoon and he was able to replace it with his spare.

"I'll get another spoon next time I go to the kitchen instead of making an extra trip to get it right now."

I was impressed. I also noticed that there was a string hanging out of the waiter's fly. Looking around, I noticed that all the waiters had the same string hanging from their flies. So before he walked off, I asked the waiter, "Excuse me, but can you tell me why you have that string right there?"

"Oh, certainly!" Then he lowered his voice. "Not everyone is so observant. That consulting firm I mentioned also found out that we could save time in the restroom. By tying this string to the tip of our 'you-know-what', we can pull it out without touching it and eliminate the need to wash our hands, shortening the time spent in the restroom by 76.39 percent."

"After you get it out, how do you put it back?"
"Well," he whispered, "I don't know about the others, but I use the spoon."

6th July - Conquering Salut Seafood Restaurant

Fuh! Not yet done eating woooo...

Told you my colestrol level went sky-rocketing to outer space! But it can't be helped...

Well what would you do if you get invited to an eating treat?

Succumb graciously lar (^_^)

Diet & cholestrol-free food can wait one more day *grin*

Mr B belanja (treated) Aunty F to her fav food as her 1 day belated birthday present lar konon (valid reason also bah)...

So where to eat the Best Seafood with the Cheapest rate in town?

Most would chirp "SALUT lar..." That's where clever Aunty F asked to go :)

And why am I invited?

Because it's always fun to eat like there's no tomorrow and grow 'healthier' with someone else to compare-compare perut buncit with bah...

Plus, I am but the cutest niece she has bwahahahah! The rest are just plain ~~gorgeous~~ :-P

Salut really delivered for me... All the dishes were superb, tasty stuff! Just look at all those plates... cleaned up nicely. For five of us, 8 superlicious dishes with 1 pickle appetiser and drinks... How much do you think it cost? Less than RM280! That's about RM56 /head.

*Phew* That's about it ... the 3 days eating spree.
Seriously have to perform damage control process now... Hooo!
(To date, have bought bananas, fiber biscuit, nestum and invested in Melilea Greenfield Organic *LOL!* Gotta give me an 'A' for effort)
